Dr. Wynette C. Howard
Dear Families and Weld Re-8 Community,
February is often known as the month to let others know how much we care about them. I cherish each and every one of you, and I am grateful for the honor to serve you and your children in their educational journey. I love seeing the light in our preschoolers’ eyes as they learn something new, take on a new challenge, or make a new friend. I am fortunate to have daily opportunities to engage with your precious children and with you, our outstanding Early Childhood families. I value you and the partnership that I and the Early Childhood team enjoy with you. Please reach out at any time with questions, needs, celebrations, or just to connect. I hope you have a wonderful month!
Preschool Curriculum and Instruction
Last month, I shared that we began piloting the math curriculum, Engage-Eureka Math. Children are excited about the math they are learning. They are making new connections, sharing ideas and solutions, and using math language across their preschool day. Beginning in February, we will implement the Core Knowledge Language Arts curriculum. The learning module is all about animals! Language and literacy will be taught through book reading, nursery rhymes, art, music, fun activities, and hands-on experiences in every learning center. We look forward to watching students explore, learn, and grow!
